What robbery at the Passport Office?

THE EDITOR, Madam:

In the story 'Gangster Girls', published in THE STAR on Thursday, November 24, a police officer from the Half-Way Tree Police Station adverted to a recent robbery of the Passport Office on Constant Spring Road. The report is absolutely false and we are at a loss as to its genesis. There was no such robbery, whether recently or in the past, at the Passport Office.

We support enterprise reporting which, if done carefully, will lead to excellent stories. We would urge, however, that reporters to check and double check their sources before publication. The Ministry of National Security remains available to assist with such checks.

I am, etc.,

NEVILLE GRAHAM
