Black-er under fire

TEINO EVANS, Staff Reporter

Black-er

BUN HIM IS burning hot in every possible sense. Women say it is one of the hottest songs today, but some men have come under heat because of it and are transferring the heat to the deejay Black-er.

Black-er says he has been threatened for his part in the song, done with Macka Diamond, which encourages women to be unfaithful to men who are unfaithful to them.

Black-er says he has since received a few threats from men who are claiming that it is his fault that their relationships have gone sour.

"Man a call an a seh dem life mash up cause dem woman a gi dem bun, dem a seh it nuh matta right now, a me cause dem life fi mash up cause mi song cause dem woman fi a do dem ting yah now an tru yuh have all some a di woman dem keep on a seh 'yuh nuh hear wa Black-er seh', dem tek it differently," Black-er explained.

One man, who wished not to have his name published, says the relationship with his girlfriend has changed for the worse because of the song.

"She neva use to a flip an a gwaan suh before, but is like seh from she start pre di Black-er song, it look like som'n fly up in ar head. One time she wi sehh she feel sehh mi a gi ar bun an she lef it deh suh. But now, is like she waan threaten fi guh out a road, an trus mi, any day she do dat it done," he argued.

However, not all men share in blaming Black-er, as Junior Shaw says some men are only looking to pin the blame elsewhere.

"I don't think Black-er has anything to do wid man girl a gi dem bun, the song might have a little influence or put the thought in some women's mind, but nuh body nuh fi blame no man, di man dem fi look inna dem self an si if dem cause it on themselves," Shaw firmly stated.

However, Black-er, has not taken the threats too seriously "a jus talk", he says.

It has also been rumoured that Black-er had not performed on a number of shows due to these threats. Macka Diamond has been performing the song solo at the last couple of stage shows she attended. However, Macka Diamond said that was not the reason.

"Di one an two show dem weh mi deh pon, Black-er never billed for dem, suh him tell mi seh him naa come, dat a di reason weh him gi mi," Macka Diamond said.

In the final analysis, however, Black-er, says he will make no apologies for his song, Bun Him.

"Di truth a guh hurt same way, dem man deh weh a threaten mi nah listen di song good. If a man nah tek care a him woman di right way, a one ting a guh end up an him a guh get bun...if yuh a gi bun, yuh a guh get back bun," he said.
