IT WAS A busy period for law enforcers throughout the Corporate Area between last Wednesday night and Thursday morning with three persons being shot, one being murdered and one armed robbery.
The Constant Spring Police report that about 12:10 a.m. three persons were shot along Red Hills Road, St. Andrew. It is reported that the three men were in a yard when they were approached by five men armed with shotguns.
The men fired several shots hitting them all over their bodies. They were taken to hospital where one was admitted and the others, treated and released.
Earlier at 8:40 p.m., the body of a man, identified only as 'Fat Man', was found along Bull Street, Kingston 16. Residents heard gunshots and summoned the police, who discovered the body.
Six 9mm spent shells were found on the scene. The police so far, have no suspects, leads or motives in relation to the killing.
Then at 9 p.m. a taxi driver from Penn Street, Kingston 13, narrowly escaped death after being held up and robbed by gunmen on Greenwich Park Road.
Police say the driver picked up two men and some other passengers in Cross Roads, St. Andrew and as the car approached the Iris Gelly Primary and Junior High School, the men asked for a stop and then reportedly pulled firearms and robbed the passengers.
They then told the driver to run, which he did. He reported heard an explosion and felt a burning sensation, later discovering that he was shot. The men escaped in the driver's white Toyota Corolla licensed PB5424. The Denham Town CIB is investigating.
