Sean Paul
JAMAICAN DEEJAY SEAN Paul found himself in the middle of a 'set up' recently.
Punk'd, a hidden camera show with elaborate schemes, is aired on the United States music channel MTV where celebrities are are tricked by the cast and crew of the TV show. Sean Paul was one of the victims on the episode which was aired Sunday night. Actor Ashton Kutcher is the host of the weekly show.
Sean Paul's kindness made him fall prey for the trick. The Jamaican went to assist a 'blind' lady who asked for help finding somewhere, while one of Sean Paul's body guard ran off to find her guard dog that had scampered off.
Unfortunately, a fake skateboarder knocked the lady over and Sean Paul, with a black knapsack on his back, seemed frightened by the accident and went to assist her while calling for help on his cellular phone.
A white man passed by and, on seeing the woman on the ground, started to accuse Sean Paul of hurting the lady. In a mixture of American and Jamaican patios, Sean Paul explained the situation but the man proceeded to call the 'police' and made it seem like Sean Paul had hurt the lady.
"It's okay Mam, I'm going to stay here so he doesn't hurt you anymore," the man said.
Sean Paul who was becoming upset at the accusation explained, "I'm trying to help her, I'm telling her she's in the middle of a driveway and she needs to get up. Stop telling whoever you talking to on the phone those things. My bodyguard went to look for her dog that ran off."
After some time, a relieved-looking Sean was made aware that he was being punk'd.
"I can't believe this, I got punk'd," said Sean, while holding up three fingers on each hand, signalling the Trinity, his newest album at the end of the show.
The show was hilarious and Jamaicans who watched the show, couldn't stop laughing. "This is so funny. Even Sean Paul get punk'd. It look like him did a get vex though. Them shoulda mek a 'police' come out and talk to him and mention something bout Jamaica and see what him woulda do," said Chris, a viewer.
Punk'd has played similar tricks on other celebrities like Serena Williams, Shaquille O'neil, Raven Simone, Kirsten Dunst, Omarion, Mario, among many others. Sean Paul is the first Jamaican to be featured on the show.
