SPANISH TOWN:
A JUVENILE WHO pleaded guilty in the Spanish Town RM Court yesterday to driving without a driver's licence, will be sentenced in the Juvenile Court in January.
The appearance of the male youth, who is of an Albion Mountain address in St. Mary, caused quite a stir when he appeared. It was revealed that on December 15, he was charged with driving away a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, and malicious destruction of property.
He later appeared in the Spanish Town Children's Court, believed to be a female, and was remanded at the Glenhope Place of Safety. It was later learned that he was a male, but had used tissue and scandal bags to make false breasts, which fooled the authorities.
The investigating officer said further investigation revealed that the juvenile is a habitual wrong doer and was recently convicted in the Ocho Rios RM court in St. Ann, and should have been sentenced on December 19, for obtaining money by means of false pretence.
The court also learned that the reason why the juvenile was able to beat the system, is his refusal to be tested at the hospital where he was taken by the police.
In remanding the boy, the RM told him to be truthful to the probation officer, as he had been living a life of deceit. It was also revealed in court that the juvenile had lodged a report against the complainant whose car he allegedly drove away.
