CHRISTMAS WILL COME a day earlier at Caymanas Park tomorrow afternoon.
Punters will be aiming at $3.1m worth of guaranteed jackpots, starting at the second race with the Pick-9 carryover bulging at $2.6m.
Later in the afternoon, the Super-6 will be accompanied by its usual $500,000 guaranteed jackpot, starting at the fifth race.
Wayne DaCosta, a safe bet for champion trainer 2005, should saddle no less than three winners on the 10-race card, making life a little easier for Pick-9 players.
DaCosta's RIGMAROLE in the second at 1000 metres straight, EXCLUSIVE RUNNER in the seventh at 1500 metres and JETLYN'S DRAMA in the eighth at 1300 metres are all bankers and should reduce the fearsome-looking Pick-9 to a 'Pick-6'.
Other solid shots on the programme are the debutant LEGEND OF SCARFACE in the third at 1000 metres round, down-in-class CHOO CHOO CHOO in the sixth at 1000 metres straight, and FAITHFUL ROBBIE at the same distance among optional maiden claiming company in the 10th.
Treated with lasix last time out, RIGMAROLE tried to slip non-winners-of-two at 1200 metres three weeks ago but shut down a furlong out and was relegated to fourth by BUSTER JACK, RISING MOON and return winner AL'S JEWEL.
The bay gelding should relish the reduction in journey and is nicely drawn on the quicker stands' side with Shane Ellis hunting his first winner this season back home from Woodbine Racetrack in Canada.
DaCosta's runner was beaten in 59.1 in his previous race at 1000 metres straight while toting 57.0 kilos, finishing three and a quarter-length behind a very light TWIN STAR carrying 49.5 kilos.
EXCLUSIVE RUNNER is down-in-class among Overnight Allowance runners after finishing six and a half-length fourth behind CLOCK WORK in a fast 1:37.1 for the Red Stripe Mile on Superday.
Anthony Nunes' filly, LA REINA, will have her backers in a bid for a hat-trick of wins but 54.0 kilos has her sitting too close to the American-bred colt, EXCLUSIVE RUNNER, coming in at 57.0.
Keen punters should note JETLYN'S DRAMA is another pawn in DaCosta's plans to have Alexander Haber take the champion owner title. Leading Barbadian Elias Haloute by just over $400,000 in the owners' race, Haber has consented to JETLYN'S DRAMA being pushed to the lowest level after being claimed for $290,000 late September.
The five-year-old mare has looked improved in the mornings and should easily put away her 10 rivals.
Maximising on bankers is the key to cracking the Pick-9 and Ryan Darby's debutant, LEGEND OF SCARFACE, has been working sweetly from the gate in the mornings, clocking 1:00.2 and 1:00.4 behind sub-47.0 half-mile splits.
Bred nicely, Law Of The Sea-Bonsai, LEGEND OF SCARFACE is bred for speed and his dam's offsprings are multiple winners such as CRUCIAL TIME, CRUCIAL POINT and SI MI TRIAL.
CHOO CHOO CHOO is the banker of the day, dropping down to a $200,000 claiming tag from Restricted Stakes company, and FAITHFUL ROBBIE has looked sound enough at exercise to be given the nod in the night cap.
