SOME ARTISTES BELIEVE that they need to have a rival in order to make their mark on the Music business.
However, for THE STAR Artiste of the month, Busy Signal, there is a different way of making a mark.
Despite the track record showing that some rivalries in dancehall exist between some of the most popular artistes, notably Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, younger generations, like Assassin and Busy Signal have made a conscious effort to avoid such paths.
According to Busy Signal, he doesn't need to be calling another artiste's name in order to gain respect and popularity, his talent speaks for itself. In addition, Busy says he was told very early to avoid clashing.
"Killa tell mi an Sizzla tell mi and I will never break that rule, never confront or clash an artiste," Busy Signal said.
Despite suggestions that there could be rivalry between himself and other young acts such as Idonia, Busy Signal says he is holding firm to his decision.
