THE MINISTRY OF Health is still trying to determine the cause of death of three residents in Gregory Park who died mysteriously in October.
The three persons, 17-year-old Kebian Duhaney, Lisa Moncrieffe, 14, and 20-year-old Denver Taylor, died after they complained of belly-aches and started vomiting blood.
When contacted last Thursday, a senior representative from the Ministry of Health said investigations to determine the cause of death of the youngsters were still ongoing. She said it had been established that the drink was not responsible nor was it leptospirosis.
REPORTS
Reports are that on October 25, Moncrieffe, Duhaney and Taylor started vomiting and had other medical problems.
At the time of their deaths, a milk-based drink that was given to them by a church, which received it from Food for the Poor, was blamed.
However, Food for the Poor denied that the beverage was responsible for the deaths of the three persons. The residents had blocked the roads and blamed the drink which they said had expired one month before but was still given to them.
Food for the Poor later recalled the drink and reportedly complied with the investigations. It was later discovered that the drink was not responsible for the youngsters' deaths.
