ON FRIDAY THE WEEKEND STAR published a story about the families of Arthur Williams, Woodford Brown and Owen Townsend, the three men who died when they inhaled toxic fumes while carrying out work for the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) last year.
In the story, it was stated that both the JPS and the Ministry of Labour were awaiting a coroners' report as both sides had completed their investigations.
THE STAR cannot say why the coroners' report has taken this long, but, what we can say, is that we hope the report becomes available sooner than later so closure can be brought to this tragic and unfortunate incident.
Based on the reaction of the families, it would seem that they too want closure to this matter. They, like the rest of us, would want to know what caused the deaths of their loved ones, one of whom was the main provider for his family.
While the reason for the delay is still unknown, it is hoped that the wait will be worthwhile. The longer it takes to resolve this issue, the more pain and sadness the families will feel about the situation which has gone on for a while now.
