Warrant issued for 79-y-o woman

BY RASBERT TURNER STAR Writer

SPANISH TOWN:

A WARRANT WAS issued for the arrest of a 79-year-old woman who failed to appear in the Spanish Town RM Court on Monday. The warrant was however stayed until February 2, as the elderly woman sent a letter saying that she was sick.

The woman Merdina Thompson, of Marl Road in Gordon Pen, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, is before the court charged with possession and dealing in drugs.

Allegations are that on January 24, a police party conducted a raid on Thompson's premises and a portion of ganja and cocaine was found. She was charged and granted $100,000 station bail.
