BERT WILLIAMS, THE Christian man charged with buggery, was recently sentenced to seven years imprisonment after pleading guilty to six counts of buggery in the Home Circuit Court.
Williams, a messenger, was charged with the buggery of six boys over a four-year period.
He was sentenced to seven years on each count, but, the sentences will run concurrently. In addition, the court also took into consideration the fact that he had been in custody since the time of his arrest.
He was arrested in December 2004, after being accused of molesting six boys nine to 17 years between August 2000 and 2004.
Williams is said to have lured the boys to his home to tell them about the love of God when the incidents took place.
According to facts read in court, Williams reportedly went to the homes of the complainants' parents and told them he was a Christian and that he wanted to tell them about God.
It is reported that Williams often took the boys to church with him and during the summer, invited them over to his house for holidays, as well as to tell them about God.
It is reported that during the summer visits, the boys were molested.
It was also revealed in court that Williams had been married for eight months prior to his arrest and was yet to consummate his marriage.
