SPANISH TOWN:
TWO MEN WHO took turns having sex with a 15-year-old girl, were each granted bail in the sum of $40,000.00, when they appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on February 7.
The men are Karl Pinnock, 19 of a Portmore address, and Anthony Gowie, 25 of Bridgeport in Portmore, St. Catherine.
The Investigating Officer told the court that in August of last year, the complainant, who had an intimate relationship with Pinnock went to meet him in Portmore. It is alleged that Pinnock then took her to where Gowie lived.
The officer further outlined that when the 15-year-old got to Gowie's house, she told Pinnock that she fell in love with Gowie. Pinnock reportedly left the teenager at at the house and the child allegedly started to live with Gowie.
On December 27, it is alleged that Gowie brought another woman home and eventually had sex with the woman. The child reportedly got jealous and eventually called the police. Investigations later led to the arrest of Pinnock and Gowie.
When they appeared in court, both pleaded not guilty. The clerk of court also read out a letter that the complainant had allegedly written. In the letter, the teenager claims she was living with Gowie and enjoyed being the woman of the house, and that she was never forced to have sex.
In applying for bail, the accused men's attorney told the Court that the relationship was consensual and nobody would be running away.
They were consequently granted bail to return to court on March 30.
