GUNS, DRUGS, AND a variety of stolen goods were recovered by Old Harbour Police in a sting operation on Saturday in Sandy Bay, Clarendon, putting a major dent in a criminal gang operating between that area and Bodles, Old Harbour.
Two men, said to be 'major players' in the gang, were apprehended by police, in raids on two premises in the Sandy Bay area, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Their names have been withheld pending identification parades stemming from multiple cases of shootings and robberies, to which the men are implicated.
"These men were two notorious members of a gang that are believed to have committed many robberies ... other persons have also been identified, and they will also be sought after," said Constable Shothat Smith, of the Old Harbour Police Station's CIB.
A 9mm Smith & Wesson revolver with 18 rounds, and a Remington 870 Magnum shotgun with one 12 gauge cartridge were recovered in the raid.
