DESPITE THE EFFORTS of Danger Zone disco to create a party, 'Stars in Frenzy' lacked the most important element of the night: people.
The 'party', which was held at John Taylor Lawn on Parks Road, St. Andrew, close to the border of St. Catherine, on Saturday night, was put on by Aquarius Promotions. The empty dance floor and the few men who stood against the wall like wallpaper told the story of a 'party' that could have been.
The most mysterious thing about Stars in Frenzy was the number of scantily-clad women who were seen heading in the direction of the 'dance' and who stood outside the gates of Frenzy, as though gearing up for a good night. However, as the party crept into the wee hours of the night, the women left the party.
Sadly, the number of men also dwindled as the party dragged on. Nevertheless, the efforts of Danger Zone were not daunted by this unfortunate happening. They continued juggling songs like Capleton's Small World, Richie Spice's Ghetto Girl and Turbulence and Sasha's We've Got The Love.
By 2:00 a.m., some of the few men who previously stood by the inner walls of the venue moved outside and lined both sides of the street. Dedicated to their cause, Danger Zone continued to fill the empty venue with songs like Dr. Evil by Leftside and Esco, Chicken Head by Aidonia and some hip hop music.
NO RESURRECTION
Even the presence of Mad Cobra, who 'lymed' with the men in the street, did not suffice to fill the empty spaces with people. By 2:45 a.m., it was evident that 'Stars in Frenzy' could not be resurrected and the promoter, Carl Jimm Skinner, decided to throw in the towel.
"Bwoy, it neva really work out. Ah we as two likkle youth a try a ting, but it neva gwaan," said Jimmy, as he left the party. He also cited a party further down the road as a possible cause for the lack of people attending Stars in Frenzy.
