Woman killed leaving church

A 62-YEAR-OLD woman was killed yesterday yesterday after she was stabbed by a man while leaving the Stella Maris church compound in St. Andrew.

The police report that at 1:10 p.m., the woman, Vilma Mais, was leaving the church premises when she was attacked and stabbed by a man who took her handbag before escaping from the scene. She was taken to the University Hospital where she was admitted in serious condition and later died.

The police have suggested robbery as the reason behind the attack.
