Mr. Vegas - FILE

HERE ARE A few titbits you've always wanted to know about Mr. Vegas, THE STAR's artiste of the month:

Weekend STAR: Why did you feel the need to do a song (Do You Know) about post partum depression?

Vegas: 'To make people more aware of the things that women go through, because no one ever touches their topics. I wanted to educate people about it, plus I know a few people who have been through it.'

WS: What is the difference between your upcoming album and your previous ones?

Vegas: 'The versatility. It is more exclusive tracks that has never been heard before. Plus it has more roots kind of music.'

WS: What's your favourite meal to cook?

Vegas: Curry chicken, banana, yam and wheat or cornmeal dumpling.

WS: Do you see yourself getting married in the future?

Vegas: Of course. I just want to live that kind of lifestyle, where I can come home every night to that special person. We can go on cruises, movies and that sort of thing, and hang out on Sundays. I remember growing up, when Sundays was just a day that you knew your parents would be at home together.'

WS: What new artistes do you want to collaborate with?

Vegas: No, they are too hype.

WS: Do you think you have the hottest body in the business?

Vegas: No.

WS: Who does?

Vegas: Mi nuh know.

WS: What kind of women do you like?

Vegas: Someone who is nice, with pretty feet, pretty fingers, nice hair, good hygiene and someone that can cook, that is very important.

WS: If I could, I would get married to...

Vegas: A woman with the above requirements.

WS: What do you think of Portia Simpson Miller?

Vegas: She is a strong black woman and in order for any man to be great they need a strong woman supporting them, so there will be a lot of strong men coming up.

WS: Would you feel unfulfilled if you never won a Grammy?

Vegas: Yes, somewhat. It's just like a footballer trying to get a trophy, that's our trophy. That is what any artiste works toward. ..Even a nomination wouldn't be bad. I came close to it once with the Heads High album but I fell short by a couple of votes.
