Man held for drug trafficking

A MAN WHO tried to smuggle ganja out of the country, concealed in his stomach and his underwear, will have his sentencing hearing on April 6.

Forty-three-year-old St. Catherine resident, Leonard Wisdom, pleaded guilty to possession, dealing in and attempting to export ganja charges in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

RM Winsome Henry also ordered a social enquiry report about him.

Mr. Wisdom went to the Donald Sangster International Airport and checked in to board an Air Jamaica flight to Curaçao. He was searched and was it was discovered that he was wearing two underpants.

A package of ganja weighing 3.25lb was found in his crotch and he also admitted to the officer that he had ingested several pellets of the drug.

He was admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he excreted 51 pellets.
