THE LINSTEAD POLICE recovered two stolen motor vehicles and several car parts from a property in the Orangefield community last week.
According to Inspector Hugh Blair, at about 1:30 p.m., on April 6, a police party went into the community and recovered one Isuzu pickup along with several parts from a Mark II motor car. A Nissan motor car was also seized and one man was held in connection with the find.
According to the Inspector, several vehicles including minibuses, pickups and motor cars, have been recovered since the start of the month. He also said the police have realised that Linstead is becoming a popular destination for stolen vehicles. The vehicles are scrapped and modified, and eventually sold to unsuspecting individuals.
When THE STAR visited the Linstead Police Station, six recovered motor vehicles were seen. Among them was a Townace, a Hiace truck, an Isuzu Trooper, three Nissan motor cars and parts belonging to the Mark II and other vehicles.
The Inspector told THE STAR the police will be searching for others who are suspected to be involved in these activities and also warned buyers to have motor vehicles throroughly checked before they purchase them.
