Santa Cruz body identified

BY ANALEE BERNARD, Star Writer

black river

THE BODY OF a male, that was found with gunshot wounds in an open lot in the Santa Cruz Plaza, St. Elizabeth last Sunday morning, has been identified as that of Orlando Cunningham, 18, otherwise called Akeem. He is from Grange Hill in Westmoreland.

The body was identified by relatives earlier this week at the Brown's Funeral Parlour in Black River in the parish.

Reports are that relatives reported hearing gunshots on Saturday night and on Sunday morning about 9:45 a.m., a passerby saw the body and summoned the police.

Robbery has been ruled out as a motive for his killing as his cellphone, money and other valuables were found on him. The Santa Cruz police are continuing their investigations.
