A GUN WAS seized from a 13-year-old student on Wednesday, after the boy threatened to shoot another student at the school.
Students say the boy was beaten by a 17-year-old student on Monday, and he planned to exact revenge by murdering the 'bully'. Fortunately, however, the administration of the prominent high school in St. Andrew south discovered the plot and alerted the police.
"Him did a tell everybody how him a gu shot di other buay ina him face, an somebody gu inform pon im," said an excited female student.
The Hunts Bay police say that about 2:45 p.m., they received a call that a student was threatening to shoot another youth. They immediately responded, and upon apprehending and searching the 13-year-old, a home-made gun with one live 9mm round was found.
"This is not the first time we went to that school an find gun ... We are now monitoring the institution closely," said an investigating officer from the Hunts Bay CIB.
The youth was immediately taken into custody, but was later transferred to a juvenile home in the Corporate Area, as police say the station lacked the facilities to hold him.
The Hunts Bay CIB will probe the matter.
