A JAMAICAN WOMAN with British citizenship, her husband and four other men, including a 17 year-old schoolboy, were all offered bail when they appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court, St. Elizabeth, on Thursday.
The six were charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act and possession of ammunition after ganja and several live rounds were found at their house. They were all offered bail.
As a condition for bail, all six accused were told by Resident Magistrate Stanley Clarke to report to the police every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The accused couple, Gloria and Byron Williams, were ordered to surrender their travel documents.
The couple were granted bail in the sum of $500,000 each while the other men, Glenroy Grant, Warren Peru and Utmar Burlin were granted bail in the sum of $200,000 each and the student $100,000.
It is alleged that on Friday, May 26, some time in the evening, police from the Area 3 narcotics squad carried out a search operation at the house of the accused at George's Valley in the Braes River area of St. Elizabeth, where ganja weighing less than one kilo and 13 live rounds of ammunition were found inside the bathroom of the house.
They were taken to the Santa Cruz Police Station where they were subsequently arrested and charged. They are booked to return to court on June 26 where the case will be mentioned.
