Cop smacks nurse

SEVERAL NURSES AT the Kingston Public Hospital are threatening to withdraw their services this afternoon following an altercation between a policeman and one of their colleagues.

The nurses threatened to walk off the job yesterday after a policeman allegedly 'boxed' a nurse at the hospital after he missed his cellular phone. It is reported that the police officer realised his phone was missing and saw a nurse running away from the area, accused her of stealing his phone and proceeded to hit her.

When THE STAR contacted the police post at the hospital, the officers refused to comment. But, a spokesperson at the hospital said the nurses did not walk off the job but were in a meeting with the hospital's chief executive officer.

She refused to say what the meeting was about.
