INTERNATIONAL DANCEHALL GROUP TOK (Xavier "Flexx" Davidson, Craig "Craigy T" Thompson, Alistaire "Alex" McCalla, and Roshaun "Bay-C" Clarke) and their former manager, Richard 'Shams' Browne have joined forces once again. This time however, the relationship is not that of artiste and manager, but the two will be working together on the production side of things.
"Well right now it's all about production, him (Shams) going to be in charge of most of our productions and we buy back into the studio, so it's now a partnership between TOK and Shams. What wi do is unify and centralize everything, so our office and everything is now same place at the studio," Craigy T said.
While Craigy T declined to make any comments about the group's current status where management is concerned, Shams says if such an opportunity were to arise, he would be willing to manage the group again.
"Yea, why not, because the three years since I have stopped managing them, there is nobody that really know dem like I do. They had signed a contract with someone else and until that contract ends, we don't know what will happen, we can't negotiate anything because dem caan have two managers," said Shams, who was the group's manager from 1998-2003.
The group had severed ties with Shams in 2003 when they signed to an overseas manager, claiming that "he had the expertise on an international level," and that they were seeking to move their careers forward.
Both Shams and members of the group admit that the relationship is good and according to Shams, "TOK and Shams basically link up back, doing everything we use to do except management and as was before, same vibes, nutt'n nuh change. We also have a tune coming out for the summer called Get Insane and as mi seh di vibes jus nice again."
The single is expected to be on the group's new album, which they are currently finishing up with Shams. No name has yet been decided on for the album.
