A PROBATION OFFICER who was arrested by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offence and Child Abuse, was freed when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday June 20.
The man was freed after his accuser, his daughter, told the court she had not been speaking the truth, when she reported that her father sexually assaulted her.
The accused man was charged by police after his 17-year-old daughter reported that the probation officer had sexually assaulted her earlier this month.
A report was lodged at the Ruthven Road Office of the CISO formerly the Rape Unit, and the officer was charged. He later appeared in court and after an in camera hearing he was freed.
The child remains in the custody of the state.
