Robin's Bay to go all the way

BY JIMMIE, Star Racing Writer

JOCKEY CHARLES HUSSEY looks set to boot home a double for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta tomorrow afternoon including CHADMAN in the 2000-metre Joseph Ashenheim Memorial Bowl feature event.

Hussey, joint second in the jockeys' standings with Wesley Henry on 42 wins, two behind champion Brian Harding, also has a live shot aboard DaCosta's ROBIN'S BAY, a non-winner of two races, in the 1100-metre third event.

American-bred CHADMAN is actually stepping down in class from Open Allowance to Overnight Allowance, where he had won on May 27. Last time out, DaCosta's runner tried to make all and went down in a driving finish to DON LIMPIO at 1800 metres.

It was a brave effort up in class by the four-year-old gelding and even though he'll be giving away weight all around, has seemingly been enjoying a distance of ground, having won at 2000 metres when beating the very fit DIGI N' JIGGY in his previous race.

JACKPOTS AT $1.8M

TROPICAL DREAMER at 6-1 and 9-1 shot COMMON D sunk all Pick-9 bets on Saturday. However, Super-6 players spread their bets well, resulting in 15 winning combinations each worth $52,000.

The Pick-9 starts at the very first race in which the debutant FOLLOW THE TRAIN, a half sister to ROYAL COMMAND, should get bettors off to a flying start.

The three-year-old filly looks too classy for her six rivals, clocking 1:17.0 for six furlongs a month ago followed by a good 1:01.1 from the gate a couple days later.

Other early Pick-9 bankers must be CHARMING LUTHER in the second and Hussey's ROBIN'S BAY.

Richard Azan-trained CHARMING LUTHER looked really sharp at exercise Wednesday morning when galloping 59.2 from the gate out of the straight.

Peter McMaster's PYRITE TONIGHT showed speed in her only start when nabbed on the line by local bred JET BLASTER at 1100 metres late last month. Back at 1100 metres, PYRITE TONIGHT will show good speed but CHARMING LUTHER seemed an improved horse with the blinker fitted for his last workout.

PLEASURE CRUISE should give Super-6 players a flying start in the fourth race at 1000 metres straight and SIR CHA CHA BABA should again outstay $160,000 claimers in the sixth at 2000 metres.
