Diana's down for trial

Diana Washington, a woman accused of telling a six-year-old to perform oral sex on her, had her trial date set for August 30.

The allegations are that the 32-year-old of a St. Andrew address, called two youngsters from a group of boys who were playing football near her house.

She invited them into her bedroom and laid on the bed and removed her underwear.

The six-year-old told the police that another child was asked to perform the act on the woman before he did, but no statement was received from that child.

The woman is on bail and is set to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Alleged child molester gets bail extension

A man accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy at Gordon House, the government's parliament building, appeared before the courts on Wednesday.

The accused man, Daniel Leemock, on station bail, walked into the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court with a look of apathy, answering to the charge of indecent assault.

Allegations say last May, the young complainant went to Gordon House, where he usually waits for his mother after school. The accused, who works in the library situated on the building (and who was also known by the complainant), allegedly told the boy to go to a secluded bathroom in the building to urinate. the court heard that Leemock followed the boy directly into the bathroom where the infant was kissed on the mouth. The court further heard that the accused exposed his penis, and told the infant to hold unto his genitalia.

It was also heard the child was bitten on his lower lip, before leaving the bathroom.

The boy was spotted by a man in an 'out-of-bounds', section of the premises. The man upon learning what happened, told one of the boy's relative.

A report was subsequently made to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse on June 5. The accused was arrested on a warrant, on August 4.

When asked to enter a plea, Leemock adamantly stated, "Not Guilty," to the heinous accusations. Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey set the matter for trial on August 21.

Unlike most accused of such horrid sexual offences however, Leemock will not be remanded into police custody, as the court granted him an extended bail until his trial date.
