'Full 100' from Red Hills Road, St. Andrew, crowned themselves champions of the eight staging of the Braeton United Gully Scrimmage Football League on Independence Day last Monday, with a 2-1 penalty shoot-out win over Braeton Phase one in the final inside the drain in Braeton Phase three.

For their 'troubles' 'Full 100' took home $10,000 and the Fitz Jackson trophy.

Earlier Full 100 showed that they would be hard to beat when they whipped Phase one 3-1 in the preliminaries. They also beat 'Never Scare' from Whale Way in Phase three 1-0 in the semi-finals. Phase one got by 'S.D.C.' from Snapper Way in Phase three 1-0 in their semi-final clash.

Meanwhile, 'Never Scare' captured the U-17 title with a 2-1 triumph over 'Bullet from' Barracuda Way also in Phase three.

Never Scare got $8,000 cash prize and the Dr. Andrew Wheatley Independent trophy.

Coordinator of the League Orville Irons, a resident of Braeton Phase three, was pleased with the discipline, the level of skill the players exhibited and the crowd that viewed the spectacle. He added that: "The purpose of the league is to get people from various communities in Braeton and its environs to unite through sport, and just have a fun -filled day."

The league is sponsored by a host of politicians which includes Fitz Jackson, M.P. for South St .Catherine, Dr. Andrew Wheatley, Mayor of Spanish Town, Mayor of Portmore George Lee and Owen Saunderson, Councillor for the Braeton Division. The Braeton Texaco Service Station is also a sponsor.
