The number of Jamaican female footballers gaining scholarships into American Institutions has grown to six this year, with Omolyn Davis and Yolanda Hamilton being the latest.
Davis, who represents Waterhouse FC in the local league along with Barbican's Hamilton, left the island yesterday for the Lindsay Walker College in Kentucky.
Recently, Corrine Walker, Kylela Brownhill and Natalya Manyan gained scholarships to Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma.
Stacy-Ann Johnson, who captained Harbour View to last week's Sherwin Williams Knockout title, is off to Florida International University.
The offers for the scholarships resulted from various international football scouts who have observed the National senior women's team and the national Under-20 women's aggregation in international competitions such as the CONCACAF U-20 women's tournament held in Mexico in January and the CONCACAF women's Gold Cup qualifiers held in Jamaica in May.
