Cops make major drug haul

Two men were arrested by the police and a boat and truck seized after the police found a boat with 849 kilograms (1,868lb) of marijuana on Tuesday, in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine.

The drug was seized during an operation which included members of the narcotics division, the Special Anti-Crime Task Force, Operation Kingfish and members of the Jamaica Defence Force.

The police report that they were involved in an operation which began between 11 p.m. on Monday and ended shortly before noon on Tuesday when the drugs were found.

Drugs from Clarendon

According to Inspector Steve Brown from Operation Kingfish they have determined that the drugs was originally from Clarendon.

Two men were arrested in connection with the find and a truck was seized.

Further investigations are being carried out.
