Would-be robber nabbed

Quick action by the Constant Spring Police led to the arrest of a man who was in the process of robbing a 44-year-old vendor in the Constant Spring Market on Tuesday morning.

According to reports from the police, the man robbed the woman of $5000 and a cellular phone less than two weeks earlier. It is alleged that he approached the woman's stall with a gun and robbed her. He is also accused of fondling her against her will.

At about 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the 24-year-old accused, armed with a handgun, allegedly went back to the woman's stall and attempted to rob her. She made an alarm and the accused ran away.

He was, however, chased and apprehended and charged with assault with intent to rob, illegal possession of a firearm, robbery with aggravation and indecent assault.
