It is often said that only a small percentage of the population has a university education. We wanted to get more on this, so we asked:
What is the highest level of education that you have attended ... primary school, secondary school, high school or college, university or graduate school?
All Age/ Primary School 23%
Secondary School 34%
High School/College 35%
University 3%
Graduate School 1%
Vocational/ HEART 3%
These results suggest that most people only have a high school/college education. This is followed by a sizeable number that only have a secondary school education. What is frightening is that only one per cent of the respondents had been to graduate school, while only three per cent have been to university. This seems to reflect the thinking that education ends at high school.
The poll was conducted on July 15 and 16 by Johnson Survey Research Limited.
Sample size: 1,008 residents.
Age of sample : 18 and older.
Sampling error : +/- 3.1 %
