Gladston Turner, 23, of Pondside District in Yallahs, St. Thomas, was on Friday remanded after appearing in the Yallahs RM Court on carnal abuse charges.

Turner was taken into custody after he was allegedly found in a compromising position with his lover's sister, who is a minor.

The court was told that Turner, who had been observed to be very close to the 13-year-old girl, was found in bed with her after the family had retired to bed on August 17.

Both Turner and the minor were nude. An alarm was raised and Turner left. A report was made to the police and he was arrested and charged.

Turner was unrepresented in court, but an attorney spoke on his behalf. The RM told him she would need to study the files further before deciding to offer bail. He is to return to court on September 29, when the matter will again be mentioned.
