Three killed on the weekend

Three men, two in St. Catherine and one in St. James, were killed in separate incidents over the weekend.

The Montego Bay CIB is investigating the death of a security guard, whose body was found on a construction site at the Bogue Industrial Estate, on Sunday. The man has been identified as Carlton Smith, 39, of Lemon Hall, St. Catherine. Reports are that about 8 a.m., the guard's cellular phone was heard ringing continuously. Upon investigation, his body was found with a wound to the head and it was discovered that his loaded revolver was missing.

Over in St. Catherine, the police are probing the death of a 34-year-old man who was shot dead along Brunswick Avenue, St. Catherine around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to reports from the CCN, Erricton Lewis, of New Nursery district, Spanish Town, was in the driver's seat of his car when he was approached by a gunman. The gunman opened fire hitting him several times before escaping. He died on the spot.

Also in St. Catherine, a man known only as 'Round Head,' thought to be in his late '30s, was killed on Ascot Avenue, Old Harbour, on Sunday morning. Reports are that at about 1 am, residents heard gunshots and called the police. They arrived to find 'Round Head' suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at the Spanish Town Hospital.
