As part of the hunt for child killers, today THE STAR continues its series geared towards informing the public about the unsolved murders.

A reward totalling $100,000 is being offered for the arrest and charge of the person or persons responsible for the death of our children.

Call Crime Stop toll-free at 311. Full confidentiality will be maintained.

At least three of the mothers whose children were murdered last year have received counselling to help them get over the death of their children. They, however, admit that more counselling would help them and their families to cope.

The mothers, Janice Tomlinson, Ruth Green and Shernette Clarke, said counselling was provided after the death of their daughters Shanika Anderson, Sheneca Shakes and Shauna-Kaye Legister.

Green's daughter Shanika Anderson was raped and murdered last year after she was lured from the Coronation Market. Both Legister and Shakes were found in a cane field in Westmoreland last year. 'We got some counselling shortly after Shanika died but we could do with some more,' said Ruth Green, Shanika's mother. 'We got it in the first stage, especially for the children.'

Tomlinson, Sheneca Shakes' mother, said her family and that of Shernette Clarke were also counselled after the deaths. Tomlinson said, however, that they still felt bad about the incident and as such would have wanted the sessions to be longer. Shakes and Legister were found dead in a cane field in Westmoreland last year a day after they went missing. The two had left school to deliver a graduation dress to their relative when the incident occurred.

"We got some from the churches and the various people around us but really need some more because we are scared, especially since the killer is out there and we don't know who it is," said Tomlinson.
