Warlord to be tamed?

Bounty Killer - Claudine Housen

Bounty Killer's cele-brated 'cross, angry, and miserable' demeanour may be tamed soon, as the artiste has been ordered to undergo counselling for his 'dark' attitude.

The Warlord, real name Rodney Pryce, had his trial date in an assault charge extended when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. The charges were brought against him after a report by the mother of his five-year-old child, Julian Rambally.

The artiste is charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, stemming from this incident.

Allegations are that about 1:45 a.m. on May 23, Rambally was passing the 7th Avenue Plaza in Kingston on her way to a party when Pryce stopped her and an argument ensued. The complainant was allegedly punched in the face several times, dragged some distance away and her head slammed into a wall. He allegedly drove her to her apartment despite her requests to be taken to the hospital.

She was later taken by her friends to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment. Pryce was subsequently arrested, charged and granted $20,000 station bail.

Another incident reportedly took place at the deejay's Kingston apartment in July last year and was reported. However, he was not charged until June 7 when he appeared in court. The artiste pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Pryce was just returning from a series of dispute resolution counselling sessions that were ordered at his last court appearance, along with Rambally, regarding their son. This time however, the counselling will focus on the temperament of the 'Warlord' himself.

The presiding judge set the matter to be heard on December 4, 2006, allowing for an extended period of counselling for Pryce. The judge ordered that she be presented with relevant documentation of proof of Pryce's visits to a reputable counsellor, on the next court date.

In the meantime, police maintain that Pryce is adhering to the conditions of his bail, and is paying child support for his son.
