The United States is "overrated," according to Senior Superintendent Reneto Adams, who declares that his visa being revoked has not affected him at all.

The former head of the now disbanded Crime Management Unit (CMU), says that with so many other countries with prosperity, not being able to go to the US is "no big deal."

"Many other countries are developing....Cuba for example has excellent health care, Venezuela, they are a powerful set of people, South Africa, China..."said SSP Adams.

Senior Superintendent Reneto Adams discovered that his US visa had been revoked in June, a few months after being acquitted of all charges stemming from the Kraal incident, where four persons, including two women, were shot dead. It was subsequently discovered that the US visas of the SSP, and five other policemen in the Kraal incident, and the Canadian visa of his wife, Mildred Adams, had also been revoked.

Although he has no care for visiting the United States, the Senior Superintendent charges that their government to this day, has not even given him the professional courtesy of a reason for the visa cancellation.

"One of the officers went over (United States), and was detained for over six hours and interrogated like a criminal...It was an attack on us, and they still have given us no reason at all," the SSP said.

CANADIANS POINT TO KRAAL

Although Adams would not speak on the matter, investigations by the STAR revealed that a letter from the Canadian Government to the wife of the SSP, Mildred Adams, categorically stated that her visa was revoked due to the killings at Kraal.

But it is the lack of even a reason from the United States, that Adams says was a matter that should have been addressed by the Government of Jamaica.

"One of their citizens, who has tirelessly served the people, has had their visa revoked without any reason being given, and no questions are asked? What about defending the right of a Jamaican Citizen?" queried Adams.

SWEET, SWEET JAMAICA

Adams says that although there are a literal world of options for him outside of North America, he says his passionate love for Jamaica, is what allows him to be unfased by his misfortunes.

"My motivation to serve the people comes from my love of my country. You cannot hurt me by trying to keep me in paradise...not to blaspheme, but when I die, I hope I get sent back to Jamaica instead of heaven," laughed SSP Adams.

Efforts by The STAR to contact the United States Embassy on the matter, proved futile up to press time.
