Bounty launches new record label

Kavelle Anglin-Christie, Staff Reporter

Bounty Killer - File

Bounty Killer has taken his 'cross', 'hangry' and 'mi-his-harable' status to another level, forming Me-Is-A-Rebel Music. But the ingenuity doesn't stop there: The new label will be releasing the Alliance's debut album early next year.

According to Julian Jones-Griffiths, manager of Bounty Killer, Busy Signal and Mavado: "We recently signed a label deal with VP Records and our label is called Me-Is-A-Rebel Music and the first of two slated projects that are to be released is an Alliance album. It is a fantastic concept and it will feature about 20 artistes from the Alliance."

Jones-Griffiths says the un-developed Alliance members will also get to showcase their stuff alongside the veterans. "Bounty is a man that ever featuring new artistes and there will be some like Advance, Anarchy, Flex, Assailant, Dada and more on the album. This album and Bounty is all about bringing new talent to the world. Also, there are a lot of combinations on the album and they are very well sought out; we won't just be throwing artistes together to do a song."

The songs to be featured on the still untitled album will for the most part be new songs and Jones-Griffiths says, "The beats will be provided by Daseca, Don Corleon, Burch and others."

The other project Me-Is-A-Rebel Music will be releasing is Bounty's solo album. Jones-Griffiths says, "It is a long-awaited album - he hasn't released an album for more than three years. He always has a lot to say. People should just expect a lot of musical bullets. It's supposed to be released early next year and it is still untitled."
