Harbour View winning streak continues

Harbour View's Greg Taylor celebrates his goal against August Town last night. - ricardo makyn

Harbour View maintained their fine form in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League, defeating August Town FC 2-0 last night at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

Greg Taylor opened the scoring for the hosts in the 22nd minute and Kavin Bryan notched his fourth goal of the season when he scored in the 71st.

Harbour View stay atop the standings with 15 points, four more than second place Waterhouse.

The Stars of the East looked like a well -oiled machine and are in optimum early-season form. Midfielder Loxley Thomas made an excellent through pass for Taylor, who cleverly beat the offside trap to give Harbour View the lead.

Harbour View's attack was relentless throughout both halves and August Town's defence went to sleep which saw Bryan heading in Harbour View's second off a Nicholas Dodd cross.

"We are scoring goals and today we didn't give up any," commented coach Lenworth Hyde.

"We have good attacking players and they are working for us right now."

August Town, who won their two previous games against Village United and Wadadah, appeared to have an off day. Their attempts at attack were plagued by bad passes and indecisiveness.

"We didn't do the basic things right and I thought we were too hasty," said August Town coach Chris Bender.

"I think we gave Harbour View too much respect in the first half but in the second half we made a couple of adjustments and the team played much better. Again this is inexperience, but we learn along the way.
