A 31-year-old man will serve four months in prison for punching his sister and mother after they had a dispute over money.
Sheldon Miller, the man in question, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently.
The allegations are that on October 3 he and his mother got into an altercation over money for his school fee. His younger sister got involved and both women were physically abused.
The mother told the court she had previously taken legal steps to get Miller out of her house because of the trouble she was having with him. However, he returned.
After hearing the allegations, RM Judith Pusey handed down the sentence.
