WESTERN BUREAU:
A 22-year-old man, who along with another man allegedly chopped and beat a man before bashing in his head with a large stone, was remanded in custody in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday.
Kemar Roach, of Greenwood in St. James, was pointed out in an identification parade on November 18 in relation to the death of 22-year-old Barrett Hall labourer, Morris Marr.
Deadly argument
Allegations are that on June 14, Roach and another man had an argument with Marr. During the row, it is alleged that the accused man used a machete to chop Marr twice.
Further allegations are that while Marr was on the ground, the other man, who is still at large, used a piece of iron pipe to beat him before dropping a large stone on his head.
When Roach appeared before RM Wilson Smith, his lawyer was not
present, therefore no bail application was made so he will have to be brought back to court on December 14.
