Reno moved to second place in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League yesterday after they beat Harbour View 2-1 to trade spots in the points table.
The win put Reno on 25 points while Harbour View, who have a game in hand, slipped to third on 24 points after three sets of games in the second round. Waterhouse, who were not scheduled to play yesterday because of their participation in the Caribbean Club Championships, still lead with 29 points.
The game, played at St. Elizabeth Technical, had a blistering start with all three goals coming in the first 10 minutes.
Mark Williams opened the scoring for Reno in the third minute and a deflection off a defender helped Kavin Bryan to equalise for Harbour View in the ninth minute. Any hopes Harbour View had of earning a point were erased a minute later when Kirk Wright sent Reno ahead once more.
Rescheduled matches
"I think this win and the three points which resulted from it fit perfectly into our plans of securing a place in the top three, going forward to challenge for a place in the end-of-round final and eventually challenge for the title," Reno assistant coach Aaron Lawrence said after the game.
The malaria outbreak in certain parts of the corporate area forced the postponement of two games with the Tivoli/Naggo Head and Arnett Gardens and Boys' Town games rescheduled.
The only action in Kingston was the August Town/Village United fixture at the UWI Bowl which ended 1-1. David Stultz put August Town ahead in the fourth minute but Leon Irvin found the equaliser in the 41st minute.
The draw puts August Town on 12 points and Village on 16.
At Jarrett Park, Seba United and Wadadah drew 2-2 in the Montego Bay derby. Seba took a first-half lead with goals from Oliver Trail and Ricardo Geddes. Wadadah responded in the second half, however, to level the score with goals from Rafael Palmer and Arval Campbell.
Both teams are on 14 points.
