A St. James farmer, found with fake United States currency in his possession, was offered $50,000 bail in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.
Leroy Parchment, of Mocho
district, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of counterfeit notes last Friday.

However, he was told to change the plea after he explained that he had no knowledge that they were fraudulent.
Parchment, who was before the court last year for simple larceny, was ordered to report to the Springmount Police Station on Mondays. The RM also requested a copy of his police records.
The allegations are about 2:30 p.m. on November 11, Parchment was standing with a group of persons in the vicinity of the Cornwall Regional Hospital, and on seeing the police, he allegedly walked away.
He was followed by the police, who held on to him. He was searched and 12 US$100 notes were recovered from his pants pocket.
When cautioned, he told the police, "A sell mi sell something when mi get di money. Mi neva know seh dem nuh real."
