It takes a caring heart to do what the Waterford-based Boston United Youth Club's Fatherless victim members did recently, fêting youngsters from the Maxfield Park Children's Home from Kingston during a Christmas treat in an area in Waterford.
Youngsters from the 'Fatherless Victims' programme under the guidance of the club's co-ordinator Alicia-Ann Carpio-Roxborough, performed in song and poetry to an appreciative gathering.
They also gave out toys, clothing and fêted the children, and to top it off the young lads were served a sumptuous meal. Later in the evening there was a fashion show which made their guests feel at home.
Well-received
From the look on their faces during the event one could tell that the function realised its goal.
David Laing, president of the Boston United Youth Club, gave Portmore's Deputy Mayor Colin Fagan an appreciative award for his contribution towards the club. Mr. Fagan also accepted an award for Portmore Mayor George Lee which was given by Carpio-Roxborough.
