Lennox Hines, Jamaica Labour Party caretaker for the Edgewater division, donated $60,000 worth of football gear - a set of 20 jersey tops and shorts - to Portsmouth Youth Club during one of the football team's training sessions recently.
Also present at the presentation was JLP Senator Arthur Williams.
The money, Hines said, was derived from his own pocket and some contribution from his manager.
Needed to help
Hines told THE PORTMORE STAR that he saw the need and helped the community's youth club which is a part of the Edgewater division.
"I was invited to a meeting by the Portsmouth Youth Club and they told me that the football team will participate in the WIHCON Portmore Division Two League the following week and they didn't have any gears so I assisted them," Hines said.
The following Sunday Senator Williams donated three balls to the netball team that currently plays in the Portmore Divisional League.
