Bail extension for doctor on rape charge

spanish town

Doctor Victor Bristol had his $200,000 bail extended when he appeared in the Linstead Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday to answer to rape charges. He will reappear on February 12.

Bristol's appearance arose out of an incident that took place in October 2006, where it is alleged that the complainant went to his office where she was being treated. During the visit, he allegedly held her and raped her.

Following a report to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, the medical doctor was arrested and charged by the Linstead police.

When he appeared in court in December last year, R.M. Nicole Simmons granted him bail for him to reappear on Monday. He is being represented by attorney-at-law Sharon Gordon Townsend.
