Cop kills mad man

A mentally challenged man was shot dead when he allegedly attack a police officer on Hagley Park road on Monday night.

The shooting is being investigated by the Bureau of Special Investigation. The dead man is believed to be in his late 40s, dark complexion, medium build, about 175.26 cm long and was wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, white T-shirt, brown pants and a pair of grey socks.

Police reports are that at 8:05 p.m., a policeman was driving his Toyota Celica motor car and stopped at a traffic light along Hagley Park Road. While the officer waited for the light to change, the mentally challenged man reportedly attacked the police officer with a knife and was shot. He was taken to Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
