A man that police say may be the killer of former ambassador, Peter King, is now being questioned by police after he was arrested last week.
The young man, who is being identified by the names Douglas and Sheldon, was held last Tuesday, in the New Kingston area. He has been on the run from cops since June, when he was fingered as a main suspect in the ambassador's high-profile murder on March 20, last year.
Intense investigations from senior detectives assigned to the case, implicated the suspect through his connection to a vehicle that was reportedly parked outside King's residence at the time of his murder.
Police say they are yet to charge the suspect, as he was still being questioned up to Monday night. An officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity stated, "He is expected to be charged soon ... this is a high- profile case, so everything is being done by the books."
Douglas (or Sheldon) is currently being held at the Half- Way Tree Police Station, where he will continue to be questioned by police.
The body of the Trade Board chairman and former envoy was found on a blood soaked mattress in the bedroom of his house on Waterloo Road, Kingston 10. King's throat was slashed and his private area mutilated.
The case attracted intense media coverage after footage of sexually-explicit scenes was seized from the residence by the police. To this date, the notorious 'tapes' have not been made public, and is still being kept by the police.
