Boys' Town ease past Tafari Lion

St. Elizabeth

Boys' Town advanced to the next round of the 2007 Red Stripe Cup Knockout Competition after beating Tafari Lion of St Elizabeth 3-1 at the Lacovia Sports Complex yesterday.

The Kingston-based outfit advanced 5-1 on aggregate. They won the first leg 2-1 at Collie Smith Drive on Thursday, February 1.

George Vernal (9th), Michael Campbell (39th), and Marvin Morgan (71st) scored for the Boys' Town team, while Marlon Fletcher got Tafari Lion's consolation goal in the 56th.

Andrew Price, Boys' Town's coach, was pleased with his team's success.

"It wasn't one of the better games, we have played. I think we came out here and did the job to ensure that we move on to the next round and that was the important thing," he said.

Coach of Tafari Lion, Wilbert Folkes, said it was a good game.

"Boys' Town outplayed us in the second half and we tried our best but didn't capitalise on our chances," he said.
