Self-imposed sentence

Dear Pastor,

I was with a man for three years while he was in prison. When he came out, he broke up with me and I found that extremely strange. A girl called my phone and created a split between him and myself by saying that I was a "crank" calling her phone and I was not.

I want him back. I am so involved with his family and I always dream about him. My heart hurts. We have a lot of mutual friends and he told his parents that he was going to marry me in the next two years. I want to know what happened. My friend said someone did something to him but I don't believe in those things. I want him back. I still love him.

Why would he just get up and leave? His excuse is that my place is not intact. Not that it is dirty but that it is not intact. I don't get it. I have never felt like this. We were at the point where we decided that my child would call him daddy and now he doesn't call or do anything. Help me please.

R. B.,

Dear R. B.,

I suggest that you leave this man alone. If you keep pushing yourself on him, he will use you but he will not marry you. Cut your losses and move on. You have done quite a bit for him and now he feels you are not good enough for him. Perhaps he is not good enough for you. Why don't you look at it that way?

Sometimes when men are incarcerated, their girlfriends do much for them. They provide them with certain necessities and even support their children and pay bills, etc. And after these men have served their time, they turn their back on these women. Don't fight to get back this ungrateful man. Leave him to God.

Pastor
