Four men who attempted to kidnap two Chinese nationals, were arrested by police after the vehicle stalled because of a 'kill switch'.
A 'kill switch' is an anti-theft device that disables a motor vehicle if it is not deactivated.
Reports are that at about 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday night, the four men who were travelling in a Nissan Sunny car, accosted two Chinese businessmen in the Northside Plaza, near Dragon City restaurant.
The men were reportedly on the way to their van, when the accused men pulled knives and forced them into the back of the van. They then drove off on to Hope Road.
The complainants were robbed of cash and cellular phones before the vehicle was disabled near the KFC outlet on Hope Road.
The van was intercepted by police and all four men were held. The stolen cash and the cellular phones were recovered.
The Half-Way Tree CIB is handling the matter.
